MG Submission to Hats

So, it looks like I will be breaking the ice...

I call this my "fun hat" ;)

Some of you might debate that this is not a hat by definition, but I checked wikipedia and it looks like it does qualify. Comments are always welcome!

I like the congruence of the objects belonging to each other. The motorcycle in the background almost assumes a position of what's on the helmet's mind. But that appeal is linear, obvious--it appeals to the maths and sciences of me. This photo would make me interested in purchasing a motorcycle (or a helmet), but it doesn't stir me because it doesn't feel alive to me.

I like the photo composition but I think it could use a tad bit more sharpness and contrast of blacks and gray.

I think this photo is well-composed, has nice lighting, and great lines. It seems very catalog-y, which can be a positive or a negative depending on your tastes. I wish a little that we weren't looking at the motorcycle pretty much dead-on from the side, but that's personal preference. Overall, I like the photo.

Hello MG,
you get my vote because I found that your picture englobe a lot of different component, some research, composition (foreground, background), different focus, clear subject, you share a part of your life with all of us and I ride too ;-). for the improvement part and this is just something I work on all the time I would make sure the photographer can't be distinguish (I know it is hard on something round).
cheers

Good focus, lines, lighting and background. I like how clear the helmet is in the foreground. It's a great straight on shot. Though, I also would have wished for the bike to be slightly off center in the back. This is simple and clean. Good work!

I'd like a bit more contrast in this too. Mainly darker blacks; black and white images really pop to me when there are some deep blacks for your eyes to wander over.

I like the reflection of the photographer in the helmet as well. You could probably get rid of it with a polarizer but in this case I'd keep it.

Yours got my vote. I like the magazine look, the reflection, and how you weren't afraid of symmetry. I was however bothered (this might sound weird) by the fact that you didn't show your helmet's chin (a composition/cropping thing).

Well done on breaking the ice so well!
