Green Crackle

I'm the one breaking the ice this time.
after what was supposed to a be a hour make shift studio shooting, it turn out to be a 4h frustrating experience and I'm happy about it because I learn so much... I sure learn that I have to review some owners manual ;-)

from a Crackling Rose

enjoy the weekend

I really like the colors in these photos. The light is very interesting. Now that I know that it was done in a studio, it explains a few things, but on its own the lighting seems eerie and mysterious. The second photo definitely evokes crackle to me more than the first. I like the delicate architecture of the dried rose petal in the second.

I like the life over death aspect of the first photo and the really crisp focus around the green leaf/petal's edging. Plus, green + brown equal another of my favorite color combinations.

Even though I'm sure that the dried subject of the second photo is brittle from the dryness, something in the rounded shape of it makes it seem soft rather than crackly to me.
