The first crackle is fun, and the colors have energy. I find it less visually interesting (and less crackly as well) than the second photo though. I really like how the second one is almost visceral as the leaves are pointed right at you. Lots of dried vegetation this round... interesting...
That first photo should be hung up large in crate & barrel or similar. It looks like something I'd spy while doing the morning-after clean up from a fun party. I like it.
The second photo is chilling. I don't recognize the flora but it's very stark and cold. Ingmar Bergman's crackle.
FYI, the second shot is garlic... you can see them out of focus down there.
